Tikiboo Announces New Charity Partnership With Muscular Dystrophy UK
•Posted on January 25 2022
Tikiboo has teamed up with Muscular Dystrophy UK to launch a new range of activewear as part of their charity partnership.
The collaboration will see four different activewear designs launch across 2022, and each is themed around raising awareness of muscular dystrophy.
There are more than 70,000 people across the UK who live with a muscle-wasting condition, of which there are more than 60 different types. Most are progressive and many cause life-limiting health complications which is why Muscular Dystrophy UK is so passionate about raising awareness and funding research into treatments and cures.
And as part of their partnership, Tikiboo will donate 20% of sales from the muscular dystrophy-themed activewear to the charity.
The first two designs will be launched on Friday 28th January.
The bright Chain Reaction collection is inspired by DNA sequencing and the #MusclesMatter design features a unique neon pink muscular print. Sizes range from XXS-XXXL and prices start from £28.99. The final two collections will launch later this year.
Faye Jobbins co-founded Tikiboo with her husband Daniel. She said: “We’re delighted to have created these new collections in support of Muscular Dystrophy UK. Our partnership is all the more special given that Daniel has a friend who lives with a form of muscular dystrophy, so having Muscular Dystrophy UK as our official 2022 charity partner was a no brainer. We hope our bright and fun muscle-themed collections help raise vital money that will enable Muscular Dystrophy UK to continue supporting individuals and families affected by these conditions.”
Martin Hywood, Regional Corporate New Business Officer for Muscular Dystrophy UK, said: “The synergy between Tikiboo and Muscular Dystrophy UK is fantastic. These designs are creative, bold and proud to be seen, and the colourful patterns also reflect the bright minds of scientists conducting research into treatments and cures. Personally, I am over the moon with this partnership. I live with a muscle-wasting condition myself and am proud to be seen in Tikiboo’s bright colours in my wheelchair. We are very grateful to the Tikiboo team for supporting Muscular Dystrophy UK, and we encourage people to help show that muscles matter by purchasing and wearing this fantastic range of activewear.”
