•Posted on February 22 2015
We are always hearing that we all need to drink more water.
Health experts recommend that we drink around 8 glasses a day to keep our bodies hydrated and running to their optimum levels.
Just what exactly does this water do for us and how does it benefit our daily lives?
Here are 6 reasons why drinking water is awesome and why you should top up throughout the day:
1) Water can aid in your weight loss goals.
Many people mistake being thirsty for being hungry and try to curb those pangs with food when in actual fact the body is asking for more water. Drinking more water will help you feel fuller for longer and stop you craving bad snacks throughout the day. This will reduce your calorie intake throughout and assist with your weight loss goals.
2) Water reduces bloating and water retention.
If you deprive yourself of water and are feeling dehydrated, the body hangs on to the water that it has. This can result in bloating and water retention. To keep that bloated feeling under control , keep drinking throughout the day and watch that tummy bloat shrink down!
3) Water hydrates the skin and gives you a youthful glow.
Many people get caught up in expensive beauty creams, lotions and potions.
The best way to hydrate the skin do this is from the inside out. The water will plump the skin out which naturally reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Ditch the expensive treatments and just pick up a bottle of aqua!
4) When your body is hydrated you will find yourself feeling more energised.
Even mild hydration can lead to tiredness so if you are feeling drained then up your water intake and see how much effect it has on your energy levels, you will be surprised!
5) Water maintains bowel regularity.
If your digestive system feels sluggish you will feel tired and lacking in energy.
You will also feel bloated and uncomfortable. The easiest way to boost metabolism and get your bowels working again is to keep drinking water and flush your system out internally.
This will promote regularity and flush out toxins.
6) Water is good for combating headaches and other aches and pains.
Headaches can be caused by dehydration and simply upping your daily water consumption will alleviate the stress of headaches and mild pains.
